The short version: this site is advertising, we are paid when you download or buy through our links, we have not looked at your computer, and results differ from one machine to the next. The longer version follows.
This site is advertising-supported
digitalshieldernex.com is published by Digital Shielder Nex LLC and funded by advertising and affiliate partnerships with software vendors. Pages that recommend a product — including our landing pages for PC HelpSoft's PC Cleaner — are promotional content. Readers pay nothing; vendors do.
What our affiliate links mean
When you click a download or offer button, the link carries an identifier that tells the vendor we referred you. If you then download the software or buy a licence, the vendor may pay us a commission. Your price is not increased by this, and you are not charged anything for using our links.
This is worth being blunt about: a commercial relationship influences which products appear on this site. We feature products we have partnerships with. That is a real limitation on our coverage, and you should weigh it accordingly, compare alternatives, and read the vendor's own licence and pricing terms before spending anything.
We have not scanned your computer
No page on this website inspects your device. We do not read your files, drivers, registry, hardware or installed software, and nothing published here is a report about your specific machine. Where a page describes what is “typically” found on a computer after months of use, that is a general statement about how Windows systems accumulate temporary data over time — not a finding about yours.
Any scanning happens only after you download and run the vendor's software, on your own machine, under that vendor's licence agreement.
Results vary, genuinely. How much difference maintenance makes depends on your hardware, its age, how full the drive is, what is installed, and what was slowing the machine down in the first place. A computer that is slow because of failing storage or insufficient memory will not be fixed by clearing temporary files. We cannot and do not promise a specific improvement in speed.
Information, not technical advice
Our guides are general information written for a broad audience. They are not a substitute for a qualified technician, and they are not tailored to your situation. Changes to a computer — deleting files, editing the registry, disabling start-up items, installing maintenance software — carry risk. Back up anything you cannot afford to lose first, and proceed on your own judgement.
Third-party products and support
We do not develop, sell, license or support the software featured on this site. Purchases, licences, renewals, refunds and technical support are handled entirely by the vendor under its own terms. For PC HelpSoft products, the relevant documents are the vendor's licence agreement, its privacy policy, its uninstall instructions and its support desk. Please read the licence and pricing terms, including anything about trial limits and recurring charges, before you buy.
Accuracy and currency
Software changes. Prices, feature lists, system requirements and offer terms described here can go out of date between the time we publish and the time you read. Where our page and the vendor's own site disagree, the vendor's site is authoritative. If you spot something wrong, tell us at hello@digitalshieldernex.com and we will correct it.
