Privacy Policy

This policy explains what digitalshieldernex.com collects, why we collect it, who else is involved, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who is responsible

digitalshieldernex.com is operated by Digital Shielder Nex LLC, 200 Congress Ave, Suite 400, Austin, TX 78701, United States. For anything in this policy, write to hello@digitalshieldernex.com.

This policy covers this website only. It does not cover any other website you reach by following a link from here — including software vendors' sites, which operate under their own policies.

What we collect

Information your browser sends automatically

Like most websites, our servers record technical details of each request: IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system version. These records exist to keep the site running, to diagnose faults and to detect abuse.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of cookies. Some are strictly necessary for the site to function. Others are analytics or advertising cookies set by us or by our partners, and are used to measure which pages are read and which advertising campaigns are working. Where the law requires your consent for non-essential cookies, we ask for it before those cookies are set, and you can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser.

Click identifiers on outbound links

When you click a download or offer button, the destination URL carries an identifier that tells the vendor which website sent you. That identifier is generated on our side and is not linked to your name, email address or any account. It exists so that commissions can be attributed correctly.

Information you send us

If you email or telephone us, we hold whatever you choose to tell us — typically your email address and the content of your message — for as long as needed to deal with the matter and to keep a record of correspondence.

What we do not do. We do not scan your computer, and no page on this site inspects your files, drivers, registry or hardware. Nothing here reports findings about your specific machine. We do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Why we use it

  • To operate the site — serving pages, maintaining security and preventing fraud or abuse.
  • To understand what is read — aggregate analytics that tell us which guides are useful.
  • To measure advertising — attributing clicks and conversions to campaigns so partners can be paid correctly.
  • To answer you — responding to enquiries, corrections and legal or privacy requests.

Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are our legitimate interest in running and funding an advertising-supported website, your consent for non-essential cookies, and compliance with legal obligations where relevant.

Who else is involved

We share information only with parties who need it in order to provide the site:

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers, who process server logs on our behalf.
  • Analytics providers, who receive usage data about visits to this site.
  • Advertising and affiliate networks, and the software vendors we link to, who receive click and conversion data. Once you follow an outbound link, that vendor's own privacy policy governs what happens next — for PC HelpSoft products, see their privacy policy.
  • Professional advisers and authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.

Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on the transfer mechanisms permitted by the applicable law.

How long we keep it

Server logs are retained for a limited operational period and then deleted or aggregated. Analytics data is retained according to the settings of the analytics service in use. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the matter and to meet our record-keeping obligations.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent you have given. Residents of California and other US states with comparable laws may also have the right to know what categories of information are collected and to opt out of sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@digitalshieldernex.com. We may need to ask you for information to confirm your identity before we act. We will respond within the period required by law, and in any case within thirty days. You will not be treated differently for exercising a privacy right. If you are in the EEA or UK and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

Do Not Track and browser controls

There is no accepted industry standard for responding to Do Not Track signals, so we do not respond to them. You can, however, block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and most browsers offer a private browsing mode that discards them at the end of a session.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS and we apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where required, seek fresh consent. We suggest checking back if you use this site regularly.
